Presence Among the Pages

Religion

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20 NIV)

I am with you always. Really? Many times, I don’t feel God’s presence. But I know He is there. Scripture assures me. In fact, John 1:1 states that the Word existed “in the beginning” and that the Word was not only “with God” but the Word “was God.” God’s Word is living and active, and His presence comes alive on the Bible's pages.

But just because we have access to the Bible doesn’t mean we take advantage of it. Life often gets in the way. Busy schedules, family commitments, and job responsibilities jam-pack our days. In those moments of conviction when we do crack it open, it can be difficult to know where to begin. It’s a book unlike any other, one that you study and reflect on over time. The goal is not to get through the Bible but to let it get through you.

God invites us to spend time with Him in His Word to grow not only in our knowledge but in our relationship with Him. What’s holding you back?

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)
